A little further afield
A few miles away in Mold, there is the internationally renowned Theatr Clwyd staging high quality productions starring many well known actors. In the Vale there are several old double knave churches to explore which are of particular interest. For activity seekers there is walking, riding, mountain biking, golf, cycling, fishing, and other pursuits.
The Roman city of Chester with its city walls, amphitheatre and famous 'rows'. National Trust properties including Bodnant Gardens with its renowned laburnum arch and rhododendrons. Chirk Castle and Erddig Hall. Bodelwyddan Castle with the National Portrait Gallery. Snowdon mountain railway. Portmeirion, the unique Italianate village created by Clough Williams-Ellis. Llechwedd Slate Caverns in Blaenau Ffestiniog. The lakes of Bala, Trawsfynydd, Brenig and Vyrnwy. Anglesey is just over an hour away with lovely coves, beaches and bays and the ferry to Dublin is at Holyhead.
We are within easy reach of vibrant Manchester and Liverpool. With this wealth of attractions there is really no excuse for our guests to have a dull moment.
